Scope and Content

These documents consist of abstracts and transcripts of documents from 1749 to 1843 relating to various members of the Carrillo family, based primarily on military and church records; rough drafts of poems, undated and unsigned; and original documents, many of them pertaining to José Antonio Carrillo, and including the original treaty of Cahuenga.

Biographical Sketch

Domingo Carrillo, active in military service in San Diego and Santa Barbara, was born at San Diego in 1791. His father, Raymundo Carrillo, was regarded as the founder of the Carrillo family in California. His brothers were Carlos Antonio, Anastasio and José Antonio.
