    Scope and Content

    From material acquired in 1946 and some items from T. W. Norris Collection. Box I contains correspondence, arranged alphabetically, pertaining to the business of the Custom House. Carton I contains reports from various officials in the Custom House to the Collector of Customs; power of attorney for sale of merchandise or sale of ships; certificates; some accounts, a few relating to the construction and maintenance of the Custom House and the Marine Hospital.
