Biography
Walter Truett Anderson (b. 1933) is an author, political scientist, and environmentalist who writes on technology, psychology,
ecology and global government. He recieved a BA in political science in 1955 from the University of California, Berkeley,
and a PhD in political science and social psychology from the University of Southern Califronia in 1972.
Anderson is a longtime resident of San Francisco, a consulting faculty member at the Saybrook Institute, a regular contributor
to the Pacific News Service, and a fellow of the Meridian Institute, an international political think-tank he co-founded.

Scope and Content Note
This series includes audio cassette interviews of Esalen Institute associates done by Anderson while researching his book
The Upstart Spring. Some cassettes are unplayable due to either oxidation or "sticky shed syndrome." All playable cassettes have been reformatted
onto compact disc master copies and use copies.
