Travel Sketches 1909-1970

Scope and Contents note

This series contains sketches and drawings created by Richard Neutra during his extensive worldwide travels on the continents of Europe, Asia, North and South America. His works include depictions of church interiors and exteriors, mosques, and public centers. His subject matter also includes drawings of animals, ships, landscapes, portraits, and human figures, whom he represented dancing, celebrating, and performing daily activities. Whether visiting Brazil, Japan or an Africa nation, Neutra invariably took time to draft a sketch of his environment.
