I. Personal Papers, 1924-1945

Scope and Content Note

Contains correspondence regarding Howard's military career, including a letter from the French Army authorizing him to wear the French Victory Medal. Also includes applications for employment with the U.S. Navy and the Civil Service Commission, and a postcard from New York City.

II. Office Records, 1932-1949

Scope and Content Note

Consists of check stubs, a project list, blank letterhead and a clipping.

III. Project Records, 1932-1949

Scope and Content Note

Primarily consists of correspondence, notes, specifications, drawings, and clippings related to the Ping Yuen Housing Project in San Francisco's Chinatown, which Howard designed in partnership with Mark Daniels. Other projects represented include the Stag's Leap Guest House, the San Francisco Federal Office Building (Arthur Brown, Jr., architect), the Milwaukee County Courthouse, and unidentified residences.

IV. Additional Donations, 1950
