Scope and Content

These letters and documents, purchased from Warren Howell Books on January 11, 1962, relate for the most part to land transactions and litigation concerning Angel Island and other property in California and Baja California. A few items pertain to Mariano Soberanes' attempt to obtain payment for provisions taken by José Castro's troops in 1846. Some papers re the settlement of Osio's estate, 1878-1885, are also included.
Some items, upon being repaired were placed in oversize -the report is so annotated.
