Biography

Kathryn Kemp graduated from the College of the Pacific, Stockton, Calif. (1934). She taught school in Stockton and there helped found one of the first Girl Scout troops in the city, Troop 8, based at Lafayette School. Kemp was subsequently active in the Girl Scout leadership program and was President of the Girl Scouts Leaders' Association (c1946).

Scope and Content

The Kemp Stockton Girl Scouts Collection consists of the Stockton Troop 8 Scrapbook (1937-1956) created by Ms. Kemp and a miscellany of local and national Girl Scout printed matter (1920-1950).
