Biographical Notes

Frederick Zech, born in Philadelphia, spent most of his career in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Scope and Content

The collection includes (Boxes 2-10) both scores, and instrumental and voice parts, for a wide variety of compositions. In addition (Box 1) there is found a photograph and biographical sketch of Mr. Zech by Oliver Hyde, a large scrapbook of programs, music reviews, and related articles, and a small scrapbook of newspaper reviews.
Remarks: The correspondence of Frederick has been deposited with the California Historical Society, San Francisco, by Mrs. Benson.
