Scope and content:

Series III contains the financial and tax records of the Foundation. Included are records of all grant finances as well as the investments of the Foundation, the financial mechanics of operating the Foundation and state and federal tax returns. The series has been weeded extensively. The Foundation maintained its financial files by subject, which included a wide range of types of documents. These were separated into logical groupings by the processor and other related materials joined with them. Materials removed were judged not to be relevant to the collection but are being retained in separate files until the recommended retention periods have been met. These materials will be reviewed at the end of their retention periods for inclusion in the collection before they are destroyed.
