Scope and Content

These papers are mainly transcripts made by Thomas Savage of Papers at that time in the possession of P. C. Carrillo, relating for the most part to Carrillo's activities as customs officer in 1846 and 1847.

Biographical Sketch

Pedro C. Carrillo, a son of Carlos Antonio Carrillo, was educated in Honolulu and Boston. He was appointed collector of customs at San Diego and Santa Barbara, and also held the offices of alcalde and town surveyor of Santa Barbara, and justice of the peace of Los Angeles.
