Abstract: The documents, primarily from the T.W. Norris and the Cowan Collections, include
1792 census record for Monterey, San Jose and some of the missions; copy of a report, 1797, re Indians
of the Colorado River area; an order, 1801, re boundaries between the pueblo of San Jose and Santa Clara
Mission; a certificate of service issued to a cadet, 1804; and census data and reports on missions, 1812
and 1815.

Colorado River area. Based on his travels with Frs. Juan Diaz and Francisco Garces in 1779, to
establish the ill-fated missions of La Purísima Concepción and San Pedro y
San Pablo. Certified as a true copy of the one at the Presidio, Loreto, by José
