Travel itinerary, correspondence. Original manuscript material is in French; all having been translated into English except
a marriage license and about one page of travels. Translation includes material the library did not receive in French.
Delephine was born in Paris in 1823/24? He was a member of the Jacques Araga Company of speculators and travelled with thme
via Cape Horn on the l'Edouard arriving in California in 1848 or 1849. He was later captured by Indians. Although a physician
by profession and a student of law, he followed neither of these professions and died in Versailles, France in 1886.
