an artistic copyright law.

Edwin Wilkins Field (1804-1871) was a lawyer and amateur artist in England, where he worked for a measure for establishing
artistic copyright. He was honored in 1863 by the Old Water-Colour Society, among whom he had a large acquaintance.
Collection of letters from various artists, mostly addressed to Edwin Wilkins Field,
with some addressed to his son Walter Field who was also an artist. A few of the letters concern Field's efforts to pass some
kind of measure ensuring artistic copyright.
Most of the letters are from members of either the Royal Academy or the Old Water-Colour Society.
