Griffitts, John T.
Griffitts family.
Announcements, correspondence, and invitations.
In 1859 John T. Griffitts arrived in Sacramento and began
working in the store of Charles Crocker; in 1863, he bought out Crocker's interest and
continued the enterprise. Griffitts married Georgiana Root of New York in 1860. He
and his wife were socially prominent in Sacramento until Griffitts' death in 1898. Eva
Griffitts was their daughter; she died in Sacramento in 1945.
