78 cased photographs selected from the collections of the California State Library. Includes daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, and
tintypes (also called ferrotypes) dating from the late 1840s to the mid-1860s. Subject matter is chiefly portraits of California
pioneers and mining scenes, mining districts, and towns of the California gold rush.
