John Nolan Chain, M.D., was a graduate of the UCSF School of Medicine, Class of 1904. After an internship at Sacramento County
Hospital, he practiced in Eureka, CA until his death, April 14, 1956. Dr. Nolan was an obstetrician, a member of the Humboldt
County Medical Society, and the California Medical Society. In the 1920s Dr. Nolan participated in the series of lectures
given by Alumni Instructors; his presentation was titled "Practical Therapeutics and the Art of Medicine."
Includes medical lectures, high school and medical school memorabilia. (Diplomas and photographs transferred to certificate
and photograph collection, Archives).
