Description
The Caltech Service League Papers were given to the Archives in January, 1995, by the
last Service League members. It represents the working papers of the organization from
its inception in 1947 to its disbanding at the end of 1994.
Background
The Service League was composed of women from the Caltech community, essentially faculty
and graduate student wives. Its purpose was to assist undergraduate and graduate students
and their families, as well as new or visiting faculty and their families. Some of the
services provided were the baby furniture pool, welcoming receptions, and holiday meals.

Copyright has not been assigned to the California Institute of Technology Archives. All
requests for permission to publish or quote from manuscripts must be submitted in writing
