Scope and Contents
The collection documents the US-Mexico border region, cultural affairs celebrations, minorities, politics and government,
recreation, social conditions, urban planning, and development. It consists of copies of the articles of incorporation, materials
regarding committees, and publications issued under the auspices of Fronteras.

the creators of materials contained in the collection or their heirs. The nature of historical archival and manuscript collections

Historical Note
The Fronteras Project originated within the government and academic communities of San Diego at the time of the Bicentennial
celebrations. Its purpose was a cross-cultural study on the required adaptation in a bicultural, bilingual setting such as
San Diego and its environs.
