Biographical/Historical note

Alvin Joseph Cox, Jr., earned his a.b., 1927, and his MD, 1931, from Stanford University; he joined the faculty in the Dept. of Pathology in 1933 and retired in 1979.His father Alvin Joseph Cox earned his a.b., 1901, and M.A., 1902, at Stanford and taught in the Dept. of Chemistry from 1901-1907.

Scope and Contents note

Papers of Alvin J. Cox, Jr., consist of a letter from the Dean of Men appointing him a sponsor in Encina Hall, 1927; his two Stanford diplomas, 1927 and 1931; and one page of biographical and genealogical information on Cox and his relatives who also were connected to Stanford University, 1985.
