Description
Scrapbook contains clippings, articles, correspondence, membership list, certificates (one issued to Osward G. Villard), photographs, and 1 FCC complaint; some of the correspondence is with the American Radio Relay League regarding records of calls made by the club. Photographs are of the raising of an antenna, 1950, a visit from the UC-Berkeley club, 1951, and a group image of operators for many other stations, 1951.
Background
The “ham radio” station W6YX at Stanford dates back to 1924 and is still active; electronics professor Oswald G. Villard Jr. served as faculty advisor and trustee for many years.
