Scope and content:

The Phyllis Perez Collection consists of photographs and ephemera. The photographs document Board of County Supervisors meeting from 1997 to 2000 and include agendas that describe the photographs. The ephemera consist of items used by Phyllis Perez while she served as Clerk of the Board.

Biographical / historical:

Phyllis Perez served as the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors from 1993 to 2008. Working for the County of Santa Clara since 1965, she served as secretary in the County Executive's Office, administrative assistant for the County Animal Control, a family trustee in the Department of Social Services, and assistant clerk to the Board. Perez was also closely involved with Next Door Solutions, the Almaden Valley Women's Club, the San Jose State Communications Forum, the Role Model Program, the Business Advisory Committee at Evergreen Jr. College, and the Central County Occupational Center. She received her degree in communications from San Jose State University.

These records were transferred from retired Clerk of the Board of Supervisors Phyllis Perez in 2008.
