    Processing of the John Hunt papers was completed by undergraduate students from the University of California, Riverside as part of the Special Collections & Univeristy Archives Backlog Processing Project started in 2015. This project was funded by the UCR Library and administered by Jessica Geiser, Collections Management Librarian.

    Biographical Note

    John J. Hunt is an historian and lecturer who wrote The Waters of Comfort: The Story of Desert Hot Springs California, a non-fiction work on the history of the people and landmarks of Desert Hot Springs.

    The collection contains materials related to the research of historian John Hunt. Items in the collection include local newspaper articles written by Hunt, drafts of Hunt's book The Waters of Comfort, and letters to UC Riverside's Head of Special Collections Sidney E. Berger.
