Scope and Content of Collection
Two Civil War era documents signed by Abraham Lincoln and Salmon P. Chase, appointing Samuel B. Brinkerhoff to the position
of Surveyor of Customs for the Port of Santa Barbara, 1861. Also contains related correspondence, 1936, re acquisition of
the documents and biographical information about Brinkerhoff.
