Scope and Content of Collection
Four letters concerning the proper pronunciation of the surname Arguello. Correspondence initiated by Luise L. Arguello Zoeth
E. Eldredge concerning Eldredge's article in the Call, which Arguello felt accurately represented the correct pronunciation
of her surname. Another letter from Luise L. Arguello to to C.F. Adams at The Call newspaper informing them that the name
was being mispronounced and referring them to Eldredge for a better explanation of the pronunciation. One from C.F. Adams
to L.L. Arguello referring her to Mrs. L.A. Sorbier, the Acting President of the Arguello Boulevard Improvement Club. Finally
one letter from Mrs. Sorbier to L.L. Arguello requesting further information about the surname so that their organization
might make adjustments to correct their pronunciation of Arguello if it was incorrect.
