Biography
There is very little biographical information available about Gerald Drayson Adams. It appears that he began his film and
television writing career in the 1940s. He has numerous motion picture and television writing credits including the films
Dead Reckoning with Humphrey Bogart and
Haram Scarum and
Kissin Cousins featuring Elvis Presley. His television work includes episodes of
Bronco,
Cheyenne,
Maverick, and
Northwest Passage.
Scope and Content
The collection consists of screenplays, teleplays, treatments and other writings related to the career of writer Gerald Drayson
Adams. Included in the collection are writings for a number projects such as the films
Blood Brothers (released as
Gun Brothers),
Son of Cochise (released as
Taza: Son of Chocise),
Chief Red Sleeves (released as
War Drums) and the television series
Broken Arrow,
Maverick and
Northwest Passage. Additionally, there are two works,
Galvanized Yankee and
Music in the Night, which may have been created as novels. Notably missing from the collection are writings for
Dead Reckoning,
Haram Scarum, and
Kissin Cousins.
