Scope and Content
James Butterworth Randol was the manager of the New Almaden Mine of the Quicksilver Mining Company from 1871 until his resignation
in 1892. He gave a collection of material relating to quicksilver mining to the Library of the University of California in
March 1896, which was transferred to the Bancroft Library in May 1945. Additional material has been added.
