Description
These papers consist primarily of correspondence files maintained by Keller from 1949-2007. Also included are article reviews and refereeing reports, honorary degrees and other awards, and course evaluations, as well as figures and problems.
Background
Joseph B. Keller is Professor Emeritus of Mathematics and of Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University, and former Honorary Professor of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Cambridge. Born in Paterson, New Jersey in 1923, Keller earned all three of his degrees at New York University: B.A. in 1943, M.S. in 1946, and Ph.D. in 1948. He remained there as a Professor of Mathematics in the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences until 1979, when he moved to Stanford University, where he continues to conduct his research.
