Description
The essay discusses his education in Montrose County, Colorado; a business college in Sedalia, Missouri; Colorado University; and finally Stanford, where one of his classes was William James' course on philosophy.

Harry King Savage earned his A.B. in civil engineering at Stanford in 1907; he married Florence Grace, class of 1906, in 1909.
