The collection documents the formation and later business meetings of the La Jolla group through meeting minutes, correspondence, and committee files.

The first meeting of what is now the La Jolla Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends was held in the Mission Hills Methodist Church in San Diego in the late 1940s. The first official business meeting was held in 1951 at the home of Ruth and Joshua Bailey in La Jolla.
