Description
The County Historical Heritage Commission Papers and Photographs collection contains Commission documents, correspondence,
minutes, agendas, Heritage Resource Inventory paperwork, Historic American Buildings Surveys, newspaper clippings, photographs
and negatives that range from 1960 to 1983. The bulk of the collection is from 1975 to 1979 when Art Ogilvie, a county planner,
was on the commission.
Background
The Santa Clara County Historical Heritage Commission was created in 1973 by the Board of Supervisors in order to "protect,
preserve, and promote the appreciation, recognition and preservation of historic resources in Santa Clara County." This commission
advises the Board of Supervisors.
