Abstract: Consists of ephemeral items relating to people widely known and relatively unknown in California. The individuals and families
represented include: pioneers and settlers; professionals, including teachers, doctors, scientists, lawyers and judges; bankers
and merchants; political and cultural figures, including labor leaders, performers and artists; farmers and ranchers; religious
leaders; craftspeople; volunteers; and employees of city agencies and non-profit organizations. Contains mostly newspaper
obituaries, but also includes: handwritten biographical documents, invitations, wedding announcements, family reunion newsletters,
genealogy forms, family trees, memorials, political speeches, campaign material, correspondence, and newspaper and magazine
clippings.
