Abstract: Florence M. Sloat was chairman of the Teacher Defense Committee during the period of the House Un-American Activities Committee
hearings in California and was one of the subpoenaed teachers. The collection consists of printed materials and correspondence
relating to the hearings and Sloat's subpoena.
