The collection includes over 6,000 recordings of varying length. Earlier recordings are on audiocassette; those made since 2006 are recorded digitally. Since 2016, speakers have been regularly recorded with video in addition to audio.
In 2018, BAMPFA received a Recordings at Risk grant from the Council on Library and Information Resources that allowed for digitization of over 800 of our earliest analog guest recordings. Copyright allowing, these digitized recordings are made available on archive.org.
Due to copyright restrictions, audiovisual material from this collection may not be reproduced without permission from the relevant speaker(s).
