Ruth M. Shaver lived in Japan and studied Kabuki for many years. She also published a book on Kabuki titled,
Kabuki costume (1966). The collection consists of photographs, clippings, watercolors, sketches, theater programs, sheet music, notebooks,
and books related to Kabuki theater in Japan gathered by Shaver.
