    Abstract: George W. Robbins was a UCLA alumnus. He returned to teach Economics as an assistant professor (1931), was the head of the University Extension program, chairman of the Department of Business Administration, and Dean of the Graduate School of Management. He was a frequent spokesman on business practices and ethics during the 1950s and 60s. The collection consists of personal papers, bio-bibliographies, speeches, publications, clippings, and files related to Robbins' life and career.

    Biography

    Robbins, a graduate of UCLA, returned to teach Economics as an assistant professor in 1931; during his years at UCLA, he was head of the University Extension program, chairman of the Department of Business Administration, and Dean of the Graduate School of Management; chairman, National Committee on Emeriti, 1965-80; Robbins was a frequent spokesman on business practices and ethics during the 1950s and 60s; retired in 1970; died in Westwood, California, on October 9, 1994.

    Collection consists of personal papers, bio-bibliographies, speeches, publications, clippings, and files related to the life and career of George W. Robbins. Files relate to Robbins's deanship of the UCLA School of Management, his Ford Foundation report, and recommendations related to a school of management in India.
