Description
Best known for his role as Artemus Gordon in the 1960s television series The Wild Wild West, Ross Martin was an actor who performed on Broadway, television and motion pictures. The collection contains photographs, script material and ephemera related to Martin's acting career.
Background
Ross Martin was born Martin Rosenblatt in Grodek, Poland (ca. 1920). He came to the US as an infant and grew up in NYC, NY. Though he earned a law degree, Martin chose to work in public relations. He started acting on the Janice Gray radio series and went onto various roles on Broadway, televsision and motion pictures. He is best known for his role as Artemus Gordon in the 1960s television series The Wild Wild West. Martin passed away at the age of 61 in July 1987.
