Background
The school is located at 11800 Texas Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90025. It was known as Sawtelle High School while it was under construction, but was named Warren G. Harding High School when it opened in 1924. In 1929 it was renamed University High School. It is part of the Los Angeles Unified School District. The original Administration building, completed in 1924, was designed by the firm Russell & Alpaugh, and still stands today. It once featured an octagonal tower and a portico, but these features were toppled by the 1933 Long Beach Earthquake. The original auditorium was demolished after the 1971 Sylmar earthquake.
