The Richard L. Bower papers contain correspondence and documents relating to the construction of the San Jacinto Tramway near Palm Springs, California. The collection comprises of papers regarding Bower's work in preventing the construction of the San Jacinto Tramway. The documents include correspondence with government officials, publishers, and tramway officials, along with newspaper clippings and articles. A portion of the collection contains materials regarding the issue of allowing alcohol to be sold at concession stands in California state parks.
