Biographical/Historical Sketch
Solomon Feferman was a Professor of Mathematics and Philosophy and the Patrick Suppes Family Professor of Humanities and Sciences
at Stanford University, he became Emeritus in 2004. Born December 13, 1928 in New York, New York, Feferman earned a B.S. from
the California Institute of Technology in 1948, and his Ph.D. at University of California, Berkeley in 1957. His interests
included mathematical logic, philosophy of mathematics, and history modern logic. Feferman died in 2016.
