Background
The Ames Astrogram is an official publication of the NASA Ames Research Center. The purpose of the publication is to disseminate
news about the center's activities, achievements, and workforce. The first issue was published in October 1958, the first
month that Ames Research Center began operating as part of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Although Ames
formed in 1939 as the NACA Ames Aeronautical Laboratory, there was no newsletter prior to 1958.
