Biography

Mystery Writers of America, Incorporated (MWA) was founded in 1945; MWA promotes and protects the interests and welfare of mystery writers and strives to increase the esteem and literary recognition of the genre; each year the MWA bestows the Edgar Allan Poe Awards for achievement in various categories.

Scope and Content

Collection consists of minutes, newsletters, and publications of the Mystery Writers of America. Includes Clues (1947-55), the monthly publication of the Midwest Chapter, and The march of crime (1961-65), newsletter of the Southern California Chapter.
