Scope and Content of Collection

Correspondence, manuscripts of letters to editors, sermons, financial records, Methodist ministerial and camp meeting flyers and pamphlets, essays, and poems of Charles A. Merrill, a Methodist minister from Holyoke, Massachusetts. Includes letters of Merrill's son Elmer T. Merrill to Merrill family members during his stay in Europe during the 1880s. Also includes some materials regarding the temperance movement. Most items are from Massachusetts, especially the Springfield and Northampton areas.
