Biographical/Historical Sketch

Morris Doyle was a member for 65 years of the San Francisco law firm of McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen. He earned his A.B. at Stanford in 1929 and his law degree at Harvard Law School in 1932. His service to Stanford included membership on the Board of Trustees from 1959 to 1979, many years as a director of the Stanford Research Institute, and more than 20 years as overseer of the Hoover Institution. In 1997 Doyle was awarded the Degree of Uncommon Man by the Stanford Associates in honor of his service.
