It is responsible for clarifying federal and state regulations and university policies regarding affirmative action, discrimination, and harassment; ensuring university departments' compliance with these regulations and policies; and resolving complaints of violations of these regulations. To this end, it conducts analyses, workshops, and training programs on cultural awareness, sexual harassment, and related topics for students, faculty, and staff. OEOD also sponsors the annual Religious Diversity Forum at UCI and partners with various community organizations in developing workshops.
