Biography

Donald S. Rothchild (1928-2007) received his undergraduate degree from Kenyon College (1949), entered the military for two years during the Korean War, received his masters degree from the University of California, Berkeley (1954), and his doctorate from Johns Hopkins University (1958). He became a Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Davis in 1965.
He also served on faculties in Africa at the University of Nairobi, the University of Ghana, Makerere University in Uganda, the University of Zambia and in the United States at the School of Advanced International Studies of John Hopkins, the U.S. Institute of Peace, the Brookings Institute, and the University of California Washington Center.
