Biography
Frances Reid was born in Witchita Falls, Texas on December 9, 1914. She trained as an actress at the Pasadena Playhouse. She
appeared in on Broadway many times in the 1930s and 1940s, as Ophelia in
Hamlet, Lady Anne in
Richard III, Viola in
Twelfth Night and Roxane in
Cyrano de Bergerac. In the 1950s her career turned to television she appeared in numerous shows including soap operas
As the World Turns,
Edge of Night, and
Portia Faces Life, and "prime-time" television programs including
Hallmark Hall of Fame,
Perry Mason, and
Wagon Train. Among her film credits are
Andromeda Strain,
Seconds, and
The Wrong Man. Reid was best known for her continuing role as Alice Grayson Horton on the television soap opera,
Days of Our Lives (1965-2007).
Days of Our Lives was created by Ted Corday, Irna Phillips, and Allan Chase and aired on November 8, 1965. The story is set in the town of
Salem, and focuses on Tom and Alice Horton and their family. Frances Reid died in February 2010.

The collection consists of television scripts for the soap opera
Days of Our Lives, related to the career of actress Frances Reid. Includes scripts for: November-December 1965, February 1969, July 1970, July
1978-July 1979, August 1981-September 1985, and January 1987-June 1988.
