    Scope and Content of Collection

    One document relating to the U. S. Colored Troops, 30th Regiment, Company D, "Inventory and Inspection Report of Unserviceable Stores" Includes items such as bayonet scabbards, cartridge boxes, rifles, and belts, which had been in use for a year and a half. Company D was commanded by Captain Edwin Melaney. Inspection was conducted 11 Nov. 1865, in accordance with Circular No. 52 - Series of 1863: "Disposition of Unserviceable and Surplus Ordnance Stores."
