The collection contains advertisements, catalogs, flyers, leaflets, and lists, mainly by U.S. companies, but also a number
from Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, and the Netherlands. The materials span 1785-1984, though the bulk of
it comes from the 1920s through the 1950s. It includes some material from California firms, including the A. Carlisle & Co.
(San Francisco), Borden Printing Co. (San Francisco), California Electrotype and Stereotype Co. (Los Angeles), California
Electrotyping Co. (San Francisco), and the University of California Press (Berkeley and Los Angeles).
A number of related items have been cataloged separately and can be searched on Pegasus, the UCSB Libraries online catalog.
