University Advancement at the University of California, Irvine is responsible for campus fundraising and supporting connections
between the campus and its alumni and community. University Advancement oversees the offices of UCI Alumni Relations and the
Alumni Association, Development, Community and Government Relations, Resource Planning and Administration, and Health Sciences
Advancement. The Vice Chancellor of University Advancement reports to the Office of the Chancellor.

| 1971 | University Relations reorganized to include Development and Alumni Affairs, Public Information, and Publications. |

| 1978 | Development Office returned to University Relations. |
| 1980 | University Relations renamed University Relations and Development. |
| 1983 | University Relations and Development renamed Budget and University Relations. Reorganized to include Communications and Public Affairs, Analysis, Budget, Capital Improvements Planning, Facilities Management, Resource Administration, Government Relations--State, Government Relations--Federal, Alumni Relations, Development, News and Public Information Programs, Public Affairs, and Space Use Plans. |

| 1998 | Finance and Administration became part of University Advancement and oversaw Budget and Resource Management, Gift Administration, UCI Foundation Administration, Information Systems, and Human Resources. Government Relations renamed Governmental Relations. |
