Biography
George John Harrison was born in Texas on August 19, 1894. He served as Senior Agronomist and Superintendent of the U.S. Cotton
Field Station in Shafter, California from 1934-1952 and developed Acala 4-42 cotton for California.
Harrison passed away on November 30, 1981.

The Papers contain serials, trade publications, clippings, photographs, and speeches relating to cotton breeding, with an
emphasis on the development of the Acala variety.
